The Invitation: Team Outcast

    I'm not sure what I'm doing-- no correction why am I doing this but I am. I don't know maybe I'm making this into a too big thing? Okay so let me recap what's going on; so the day started like any other day, I woke up late having gotten used to sleeping in with the lack of activity in Guilds and I actually only woke up due to the loud neighbors, screaming through the walls about something. I tried to go back to sleep turning to my side and burring myself under my warm covers, but then I realized, I had to go to the bathroom, I let out a loud sigh knowing if I got up I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep but knowing that I couldn't hold it. I regretfully dragged my lazy butt up and stumble my way to the bathroom. When I was done I started the usual morning ritual, opening the blinds letting in the light in my otherwise dark room. Then I began to do my bed when I noticed something, I had mail. And I mean I guess it wouldn't be a big thing you know, at least to normal Pokemons, but for me, who accidentally left home, this could be it. This letter that I have next to me is everything, my future, my past, my present, and I know I'm sounding all dramatic and cliche but I mean it kinda is. If this is from my family everything's going to change, again. They probably found me I'm going to be so dead for leaving them, they'll now that I'm okay, and I'll have to go home. But I'm not sure I want to go home. I mean sure I hadn't even meant to leave in the first place and I was scared as hell coming here but I'm finally, free. I'm like independent I'm literally living on my own, something I didn't think I could do but here I am. I'm going to open it right now.

A small Eevee put down her journal placing it carefully on to her pillow, closing it with her pencil in between the pages to keep her place. She was laying on top of her bed looking at the envelope next to her pillow looking very cautiously at the envelope. She carefully reached out a paw to grab it only to clench it to a fist and bring it back. Come on Melody you can do this, you never know maybe its not even from them, she thought to herself. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, biting down on her lips to keep her air in, and quickly snatched the envelope off the bed with her shaking paws. Okay see, that was easy, she let out her breath with relief. Then she began carefully to tear open the envelope using her claw to rip out a hole on he top. She clumsily shook out the letter, her ears perked up and tail wagging in excitement. Only to have her ears dropped to the sides and tail stopping mid-wag, What is this? She put down the envelope and grabbed the letter, her eyes quickly darting over the invitation letter again and again. "WHAT THE HELL!" she screamed her teeth bearing down and tail swishing in agitation. She read over the letter again, this time bringing it so close to her face it almost pressed against her little black nose, mumbling to herself "Ayahmi?...ambassador... The Hunters have decided to throw a party? At Avalodge bar there will be ... games, music, and ice? It'll be fun and she wants to meet us?" Her head snapped back with a look of disbelief towards the offending letter her face turning into a scowl. "Stupid!" she growled letting the letter drop on the floor carelessly, she began pacing around her small room growling at her surroundings, glaring with tearful eyes at the envelope. Then she snapped her face towards her journal and angrily began to write in it.

 Journal entry

    I'm an idiot. A complete idiot an utter FOOL. Of course it wasn't my family how the hell would they even have found me? Like they could even afford to search for me. Nope they wouldn't even think that I was able to survive on my own! Ugh, its just a weird invitation letter to some rich lodge or whatever. I don't know what I was thinking honestly getting back home so soon HA! Well, anyways I guess I should at least check the party out you know. I mean I'm obviously not much of a party goer but like there's food. And nothing against the food that we receive from the Researcher's you know but they are just such small amounts! I mean I don't know maybe I'll have "fun". As if, I'm the most awkward Eevee to ever exist. I probably won't talk to anyone then wonder why no one talk to me! But I mean I haven't done anything since I came to the Researcher's so I might as well check out my comrades or whatever. Sigh, IDK I was kinda hoping this would end you know? But I also didn't.... IDK I'm weird but I guess if I'm going I might as well bring you. That way I can write when I get bored or something. Okay so I'll write when I get there.

The small Eevee slam shut her journal and jump off the bed.

"Okay," she sighed to herself trying to calm her nerves. "Let's see I have my journal," she began listing off items on her bed, "my pencil, the envelope, and uhh yah, I guess that's it." She grabbed her items and put them in her tail fluff, just like she seen the two legged vixens do, and began heading towards her door when she suddenly faltered. "Should I really go....?" she whispered quietly to herself, doubtful now she lowered her ears. "No come on, Melody I already wrote down that I would go on my journal I would so its to late now," she told herself. Then quickly, as if she was worried she would back down if she allowed herself a second thought, she opened the door and ran out. It didn't take long for the small Eevee to slow down as a crowd of Pokémon appeared, all determined to go to the party. And although she didn't particularly liked crowds, her ears quickly raised up eager to hear the any babble on the party thrower.

"Yah I totally helped save her from the-,"

"dude she's so HOT!"

"ninjas everywhere, I was surrounded,"

"really nice lady," the crowd was way to excited to hear anyone's tale without  being cut off by someone else trying to be heard, and in all honesty, was giving the poor small fox an earache trying to untangle anyone's voice from another. She crouched down wincing in pain, holding her paws over her ears trying to quiet down the sound when suddenly, everyone quiet down. Curious she stood upon her hind legs trying to get a better look around and d towards who everyone was focusing on. It was none other than Solstice, not that Melody knew by name, she was new after all.

"Okay listen up everybody," the fluffy bat said, flying up to gather attention "I know that we are all excited to go to this party, but I need to set down some ground rules," a groan began to rise up from the rowdier pokemon but were quickly silence sharp look form her, "As I was saying we need to establish some basic rules. 'Kay so, no children near the alcoholic beverages, remember your manners please, you are representing the Researchers Guild, there plenty of ways to get hurt so no rough housing I'm sure however, most you won't have a problem with this. Also for anyone who might be interested we're having a small team of us to gather samples and conduct studies on the properties of Nevermeltice. Those who wish to help we will be leaving right now so come along, and don't worry there'll still be plenty of time to join the party too."

Perfect! I can totally kill some time there, she thought cheerfully to herself. The Eevee quickly began darting between legs trying to catch up with Solstice. She soon joined the back of the small group of other Researchers being led by Solstice to the Lodge. And although she told herself she would try to talk to new people, she simply followed at the back of the group, quietly trotting behind them lost in  thought....

"Okay guys we're here!" screeched Solstice, jolting the Eevee from her thoughts, nearly slamming into another fox-like Pokemon. Wow, is that pelt color, normal? she thought curiously, tilting her head to the side. In front of her was a fox-like pokemon with shining silver fur, it was practically sparkling in the sunlight, even though it was under his brown coat, and to make things even more odd he seemed to have perfect balance standing on his hind legs. What is he? I don't think he's an Eevee not even a shiny one. Maybe those fire type ones? What were they called again? Fennec something... she was completely distracted by the Pokemon in front of her she hadn't been listening to Solstice instructions until the very end.

"....and then you simply put the ice in one of these chest until all are filled," Solstice stated simply, "Okay get to work!" And with that everyone began to go to work, everyone turned there attention to a large wall made of pure ice  and began chatting among themselves, all but a small bewildered Eevee, wondering what the hell she was supposed to do. She looked around the other 'mons hoping she would be able to figure it out through mimicking. She looked around hopping to find someone at least somewhat friendly looking. Then she noticed a young tediursa working by himself of in the corner. Perfect she slowly approached the small bear trying to quickly think of a conversation starter, Hey, so I notice you were all alone? No that sounds creepy, Sup, no hmmm hello little guy I notice you looked shy like me and I was hoping to work with another loner because loners stick together? Ugh nooooo! What about food? She quickly began searching in her tail fluff for a small bag she had stored there for later. They were really sweet candy made from natural combee honey and although it wasn't bad she preferred things like chocolate and didn't mind given these away. She went towards the young 'mon only to sit down before reaching him. making sure she was in his line of sight she began to slowly eat one of the candies. She made the normal "hmm" sounds as if it was one of the most delicious things she had ever tasted. The lil bear turned to her direction curiously. His nose began to twitch smelling the sweet honey from the candies. She then just happened to glance over to him.

"Oh hey," she said 'surprised' to find him staring, but before she could offer some he quickly turned away from her.  He's really shy I guess... She slowly approached him and notice him begin to fumble about as she came closer. "Hi, uhmm my name's Melody. Are you hungry? I would be glad to share some food with you, if you want," she asked shyly. She looked intently at the cub, her ears perked, hoping her little plan had worked.

"Thank you miss," he answered quietly, but still avoiding eye contact with her.

"Okay! I'll work with you then, uh you know so we can share them," she said excitedly sitting down next to him, and putting the little bag between them "take as many as you like, uhm what's your name?" she asked.

"Oh uhm my name's Caleb," he said timidly before reaching into the bag and grabbing a piece. "Hmmm, this is tasty!" he cried cheerfully and began to greedily take a handful.

"Cool, uhm if you don't mind me asking what are we supposed to be doing here? I was kinda distracted," she questioned seeming to not care at all him eating most of the candy.

He stopped mid scoop, his paw dripping with honey hand gave her a small knowing smile, "I can help with that."

Journal Entry

    Okay so I think so far things been going great.  I've been helping our Guild gather some Nevermeltice. And guess what? Yep this Eevee made herself a friend. Well more like an acquaintance, I mean I barely meet the kid, but we talked and help each other out in the task, and I shared my candy with him (yah I know that sounds kinda creepy but wateves). His name is Caleb (need to remember that) he's an adorable lil Tediursa. So now some 'mons are helping Solstice take the chests back to HQ, but she said she'll be back and ask the rest of us to help her take the rest back, so that means I have a while to go to the party! So I'll keep this short and go check out the party and see if there's more to write about!
    Okay I'm at the entrance and let me tell you this place is beautiful! I mean it reminds me of a fairy tale, you know? Like its freaken summer! AND THER'S A GIANT ICE CASTLE! But now I wished I had picked some clothes, you know, my paws got so cold with the first touch! I mean I'll probably get sick with the temperature change, like this whole section of town is covered with light snow!  Okay so I  kinda wanting to go back outside simply because it's way too freaken cold and the ice-

The small normal type was suddenly pushed down the stairs of the entrance roughly by a cloaked Greninja. She tripped down the stairs, keeping a grip on both her items, as she fell down on her rump. As she hit the bottom instead of simply stopping, she fell on her back and continued sliding the ice been slippery enough to easily drag across the light weight Eevee. She was out of control, spinning in circles as Pokémon cleared the way for the Eevee. And finally she stopped as she slammed head first onto a block of ice. CRASH!!!

"OW!!!!!" she yelped grabbing on to her head, with her claws still tightly gripping  her stuff. Her eyes began to fill with tears as her head started ringing, and she began to hear the crowd both laughing and concern cries. She slowly rose up to a sitting position, she was shaking still gripping her head and began to cry.

"Are you alright?" a calm voice asked near her. The Eevee had her head down aware of the small crowd now, completely ashamed, her faced flushed and wasn't sure who was talking to her. She simply shook her head 'no' and tried to say that but her voice was caught and only let out a whimper.  "There, there its alright," replied the helpful 'mon. She felt a small hand on on her. She looked through her blurred vision to see a block of ice talking to her?

"Make way please, let me see what's going on here guys," cried out a Flygon in the back, as she began to push her way throught the crowd (and hitting those with her wings who didn't move away fast enough) "Oh dear, are you alright? I'm Kali Researcher Assistance, what happened?" a worried Flygon had emerged , bearing a diagonal strap across her chest completely lost on what she should be doing. She looked down at the Eevee who seem to shrink within herself when she appeared the turned towards the small Bergmite for answers.

"Well you see miss, she came slidding across the floor, I think she fell?" he looked at her for confirmation but received only a few sniffles, "and then she slammed into my ice sculpture, but she didn't do to much damage I think-"

"It was done <purposely>," interrupted a Klink, who had been silently hovering next to them.

"He means to say it was an accident, don't mind him," the Bergmite quickly tried to clarify his friend. Before the Flygon could ask him some more explanations she heard the ragged breathing of the Eevee, and was snapped back to take action.

"Okay guys go on leave there's nothing to see here!" she shouted to the crowd, spreading her wings to cover the small Pokémon, "go back to your activities I'll take it from here," she stated simply waiting for them to scram off. She then turned back to the small Pokémon. "okay you two," she said pointing her claw at the two partners, "I appreciate your guys help, if you want I can have you guys be given another ice and have more time, just tell them to come deal with me later, and you," she said turning to the distressed Eevee, her ears flat on her skull tail puffed up twice the normal size, "com'on dear let's clean you up and get you some bandages. Can you walk? We need to take you to the bathroom," she spoke softly to her hoping to calm her down. "Mind telling me your name?"

"Mel-Melody," she managed to stutter and began to shakily get up on her hind legs. She was still visibly shaking but seemed to be calmed down enough to stop crying, even though her eyes still look too bright to be dry. Kali put a reassuring paw behind the unsteady Eevee and started to guide her to the bathroom.

"Here, let me hold on to your stuff," she said. Melody reluctantly gave her journal and pencil as they reached the bathrooms. "Okay so go wash your face I'll be back in a minute and give you some bandages and uhm some ice," she told her quickly before leaving the bathroom to herself.

As soon as the door was closed the Eevee finally let it out, "UGHHHH! WH-Y ME?! WHy did I have to be the-e idi-ot who, cr-crashes int-o, a stup-ID block of ice?" she cried, angrily staring at her reflection in the ice before she began splashing water on her face, "NOTHING ever goes right, for me! I-its not fa-ir," her eyes filled with tears as she yelled at herself in the mirror, "You a-are a st-UPID idiot, who only embarrasses herself a-and..." she began sobbing uncontrollably now, how unfair it was, "st-oo-op," she managed to mumble through her whimpers. She began to just splash herself again and again with the cold water trying to calm down before the Flygon came. "Okay just calm, take a deep breath... yep that's it, no point in looking anymore like a baby, no point in crying she might he more importing things to do, just calm down, and as soon as she leaves just go back home," she said to herself. As she began to regain some composure Kali finally came with the bandages and ice.

"Okay I see you settled down, now let me see, hold the ice please," she began wrapping the bandages around a bump on her head and handed her a piece of Nevermeltice, "luckily your not too hurt just be careful next time don't walk and write as you go, okay?" she was carefully tying the bandages. Then she grabbed her hand and place it on the bump, "you feel that, right? Keep the ice on it, I know it hurts, but keep the ice on it to make it stop swelling , and I'm going to have to ask you stay here a bit okay? You can go sit down and eat but I need to help finish taking the rest of the chest away, and I don't want you walking home alone. Or do you have a partner?" she asked curiously, but received a simple head shake, "okay so yah, I'm going to walk you back, your a Researcher, right? Yes? Okay, then I'll be back in a few minutes then, will you be okay?" she asked looking back at the Eevee.

"Yah, I'll be fine I'll go eat or something," she replied tiredly. She was holding her ice carefully on the bump, with her ears down, her fur ruffled from distressed, and tail pressing her legs, she didn't look okay, but the Flygon really had no choice but to leave her for a while. Archie would be so mad if she came late. She gave her a small nod and left Melody.

    You won't believe how quickly someone can mange to complete embarrass themselves. It was humiliating! I was crying!!!!! UGH! Okay let me explain I was freaken pushed by some giant ass Pokémon and me being all small freaken slid across the floor and slammed right into a sculpture. And I do this thing where I can't talk coherently if I cry so, then of course THE ASSISTANT RESEACHER came and I was completely childish and freaken crying! Everyone was pretty much laughing at me! It was so embarrassing I just want to go home, curl up and die, but I can't because Kali said to stay here till she comes and takes me home. GREAT I'm being treated like a complete child now!.......I just wished I hadn't come here in the first place.

The fox closed her journal, her ears pressed flatly her head, on the verge of tears again. She was sitting in at the edge of a table, trying to ignore the happy party-goers next to her. I should stop thinking about the incident, she thought gloomily. She looked to the 'mon to her right hopping to be distracted from her from her own thoughts. Next to her sat a Flareon, who seemed completely spaced out as he ignored his partner Shinx, who seemed to be trying convince him enter a dancing competition. Her eyes slowly wandered to the Pokémon's sitting in front of her, she couldn't help but stare as she saw a giant Dragalge stuffing his face with food. Something about that Pokémon was giving her the creeps, she felt like she was in the presence of a feral in all honesty, and she probably would have backed away slowly had she not notice a tiny Espur calmly sitting besides him. Still she would rather not have him see her staring so she turned to her left. WHAT THE HELL? She quickly faced away from the pair of 'mons next to her, she had only gotten a glance but it was enough for her to be scared the hell out, a ragged Zoroak with bloodshot eyes and a Snivy who seemed to have red glowing eyes.  I have to get out of here, but where? She looked around hoping to perhaps find an empty table in this crowd, but instead she began noticing painted faces walking about. It was then she noticed a small line forming near the entrance to get their face painted. Perfect! I can kill some time and maybe other Pokémon won't recognize I was the ice smasher, she thought gleefully. She grabbed her items and raced of towards line. Wait, what do I want to be painted on me? She looked around seeing a Seviper happily showing off his flower painted face to a vested-Purrlion, an Eevee (who looked a lot like herself, to her concern) and a shinx who were simply spattered in paint, and a Castform with a strange emblem painted on. Okay, how about I think on a theme? Well it's October so maybe something scary, like a skull or maybe a zombie... She couldn't seem to decide and the energetic Vulpix in front of her wasn't helping her concentrate either. Odd, she thought as she tilted her head curiously, doesn't that species have five tails? 

"Com'on kid don't you want to get painted on?" a Smeargle out, catching the attention of the small fox. Damn it, she cursed herself for getting easily distracted. She hoped over to the stool in front of the artist, barley managing to balance down the stool.  "You seem pretty excited," giggled the Smeargle, "so what'cha want?" she asked as she began grabbing her tail.


"Uh, I don't really know, something haloween-ish that can cover most of my face?" Melody replied doubtfully. 


"Hmmm, I think I have a perfect idea. Do you know Cheshire from Alice in Wonderland?"

    Okay, so I now have good news and bad news. Good news is I just got my face painted and I look totally scary and cool, plus I'm no longer worried anyone will recognize me as the ice smasher. However, I'm kinda attracting a few side glances because of the Cheshire smile that was painted on me. Oh well, oh and I also got some free paint that I can use from the nice Smeargle too! I'm eating this awesome food right now and its so good along with a friend Caleb (I'm so glad I wrote down his name here I had completely forgot his)! And Pokémon have started dancing for this contest thing. (I see a belly dancing Zora, this other Eevee and Chikorita dancing together, and this Servine named Loddie who apparently is teamed up with my friend, who I bet gonna win). I can see some ice sculptures from here too, a Riolu with this weird natural spire thing, a Flaffy with a beat up ice? A Purrlion who made a Seaking (How do you do that?). But in all honesty I still want to go home all the ice  making me remember the incident. But it's not long till Kali comes back, I think.
